African Mango Plus
African Mango Plus is a weight loss aid made from ingredients containing Irvingia Gabonensis, also known as African Mango. While African Mango is not known to promote weight loss on its own, this weight loss supplement has been shown to improve weight loss results when combined with a controlled calorie diet and sufficient excercise. How does African Mango work? The extract of the Irvingia Gabonensis fruit has been shown to increase the amount of Leptin, a human hormone named for the Greek word "leptos" which means thin. The protein hormone Leptin plays an important part in regulating the body's metabolism, or the intake and expenditure of energy. The weight loss benefits of Leptin have been known since 1950, when a study of obese mice was done at the Jackson Colony. The mice exhibited unusually voracious appetities and excessive amounts of fat. When the obese mice were injected with Leptin, they lost the excess body fat and returned to their normal body weight. In March of 2010, a research study indicated that treating mice with Type I Diabetes with Leptin alone, or in combination with insulin treatments, did a better job of regulating blood sugar levels and lowering cholesterol than simply the treating the mice with insulin. While results have not yet been substantiated, there is reason to suggest the Leptin could be an alternative treatment for Type I Diabetes. Until then, the Leptin-increasing propeties of African Mango (or Iringia Gabonensis) are used primarily to increase metabolism in overweight individuals. Although the African Mango has received recent media attention, it has been used in Cameroon, Africa for centuries to increase energy and promote weight loss. The particular species of mango found in West Africa contains an unusual seed which natives call the "Dikka nut". It is an extract from the Dikka nut that is used for in the weight loss supplement, African Mango Plus, which also contains other metabolism boosting ingredients such as green tea and caffeine, and antioxidants such as ECGC. Do all mangos assist with weight loss? No, it is only the special mangos grown in West Africa's coastal rainforest that contain Irvingia Gabonensis. Other varieties of mango are tasty and provide nutiritious vitamins and minerals, but they do not have the same weight loss benefits that are found with African Mango.
